Welcome to Reston Station, representing the
beginning transformation of the Dulles Corridor into a
transit-oriented, mixed-use, urban employment center
unlike anything else Fairfax County has to offer. Being
developed above and around the Reston Station Metro
Facility, the urban core of Reston Station will integrate
more than 1.3 million square feet of mixed-use
development consisting of more than 500,000 square
feet of Class A office, approximately 100,000 square
feet of restaurants, shops, and service-oriented
retailers, a 200-plus room hotel, and approximately
900 luxury residences. Located mid-way between
Tyson's Corner and Dulles Airport in one of America's
most affluent counties, Reston Station will be the ideal
place to live, work, congregate, and play.
The Reston Station Metro Facility is being constructed substantially underground through a public-private partnership of Comstock Partners and Fairfax County and will include a commuter park and ride facility, a transit bus depot, 2,300 commuter parking spaces, and several hundred parking spaces for the retail establishments being constructed above the Reston Station Metro Facility.
The Reston Station Plaza, located directly above the Reston Station Metro Facility and adjacent to the Silver Line Metro Station, will form the core of the greater Reston Station area, and will include civic spaces dedicated to public activities throughout the year. Design work is underway for multiple office buildings, residential buildings, retail spaces, and a hotel planned to begin arriving at Reston Station shortly after the scheduled 2013 opening of the Reston Station Metro Facility.
Phase I of the Silver Line Metro expansion to Dulles International Airport is well underway with completion expected in 2013. Phase I will expand the Silver Line through Tyson's Corner, terminating at Reston Station. Design work for Phase II of the Silver Line expansion has commenced. Phase II will extend the Silver Line from Reston Station to Dulles International Airport and into Loudoun County, terminating at Loudoun Station, Comstock's 3 million square foot mixed-use, transit-oriented development. Current estimates for the completion of Phase II indicate the opening of the Loudoun Station Metro facility in 2016. During construction of Phase II of the Silver Line, commuter bus service will provide a direct connection from Reston Station to the Loudoun Station.
